CPSP is pleased to announce the awarding of its annual poverty and social policy dissertation stipend to Elizabeth Doran to continue her dissertation research on how social policies can support families with young children and in poverty.

In her dissertation “Childcare (In)stability and Household (In)stability Among Low-Income Families” she is specifically examining the effect of universal pre-kindergarten in New York City, and more generally of child care subsidies, on parental education and employment. She will also examine the relationships between employment, housing, family structure, and childcare instability.
