Christal Hamilton, CPSP Postdoctoral Research Scientist

 
 

Christal Hamilton is a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at the Center on Poverty and Social Policy at Columbia University. Her research focuses on the impact of socioeconomic inequality on vulnerable groups and the role of public policies in reducing existing socioeconomic disparities or increasing social mobility. At the CPSP, Hamilton is currently working on projects evaluating the impact of the expanded Child Tax Credit, experiences of poverty around the time of childbirth, and the changing circumstances of young adults. She also engages in research examining immigrant health and wellbeing. Hamilton holds a PhD in Public Affairs from the University of Missouri.
